About Mohamed Shahin:

Mohamed Shahin is an inspirational instructor, world-renowned performer, and expert choreographer of Egyptian Oriental Dance and Egyptian/ Middle Eastern Folkloric Dance. His powerful technique, magnetic personality, and masterful knowledge of all styles of Middle Eastern Dance have turned Mohamed Shahin into one of the most sought after dance instructors and performers in the world today.

Shahin’s talent and expertise have taken him around the world to teach workshops, perform and judge international dance competitions in major dance festivals in many countries throughout North America, South America, Europe, Australia, Asia, and Africa including the largest international Egyptian belly dance festival in the world-  Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival ®.  He is a principal teacher at the Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival ® which takes place in his home city of Cairo.  Speaking Arabic, English & Russian fluently adds to Mohamed Shahin’s great array of skills and enables him to instruct students in these languages.

During his career as a performer and instructor Shahin has been greatly inspired by Mahmoud Reda, Raqia Hassan and by such legendary performers as Fifi Abdo,  Naima Akef,  and Soheir Zaki. Shahin is continually influenced by current Egyptian dance artists, performers, and teachers. Throughout his travels, he has been greatly inspired by his fellow peer instructors, and by his beloved students- who continually surprise him with their many artistic talents.

In additional to being a world renowned instructor, Mohamed Shahin has created his own line of instructional DVD's.  Based on the request of many of his students participating in his workshops and private classes worldwide, Mohamed Shahin  developed this line of DVD’s to allow his students to be able to continually study his choreographies and drills of the technical breakdowns, body isolations, movements, and combinations that make up his choreographies- in the convenience of their own homes.
